Proposed Convenant Changes for Review

RRR POA Members,

Attached are the proposed changes for the RRR Covenants for your review and comments to me by December 12th. We will discuss these changes and vote on them at the annual meeting on January 17th.

The intent is to make the Covenants easier to read, understand, and apply - for all of us. For that reason we included a table of contents and tried to collect the same topics all in the same place instead of scattered throughout in several places. Our intent was NOT to make wholesale substantive changes, and we did not.

There are two documents - one shows the proposed changes to the present Covenants and is called the Second Restatement of the Covenants. (It is shorter and easier to read.) [ View the document here ]

The second one shows exactly every change that has been made to the original First Restatement of the Covenants - the ones in effect now. (It is provided so that you can see exactly what was changed, but it is hard to follow in some cases). Our intent was to clean up some obvious administrative errors (references to the wrong articles or sections) and clarify terms where there are several apparent definitions (roads, roadways, driveways, private drives) and to make clear the voting procedures (one vote per each tract for which dues are paid - the rule in effect, vice voting by "acreage.")

Please take the time to read the proposed Covenants, and refer to the changes if you wish to see what we did and why. We would be happy to discuss any of the revisions. We think this is an improvement that will make the Covenants easier to use and apply.

If you think something is still wrong, or a typo (I know there are several), or just plain dumb, please let me know. Or make your changes on a paper copy and mail it to me at 1978 RRR Road, Killeen TX 76549.

Please send me or any Board member an email and let us know if you agree or disagree with the proposed changes, so we can get an idea of how you property owners feel about this issue.
